Day 9
I was dropped back in Dingwall to resume the trail after stocking up at the Coop. After a couple of miles I came to the excellent Highland Farm cafe and stopped for some tea. It was a bit early to stop but there weren't any others on today's route. A few miles further along the road I met someone walking to John O'Groats. We chatted for a while as we made our way to Evanton. I then headed up the hill through some woods to the Black Rock gorge. It is a very deep, narrow gorge, difficult to photograph.
As I got further up the hill, I started to see mountains in the distance.
There were several wind turbines but I was surprised to see the wind farm had its own Pictish stone!
I crossed into another valley with a beautiful stream at Boath.
Further up the hill, I came across the set-up crew for a TV show being filmed in the area. Some of you may recognise the set.
After chatting with the crew, I continued on past Loch Morie on a track that was rather wet in parts.
I crossed over into Strath Rusdale and followed the track up another hill.
There were plenty of possible camping spots but none with mobile reception until I reached the gates of the Glencalvie estate.
