Day 7

I was just about to post the blog last night when mobile reception disappeared. As I cycled out of Culbin forest, it only returned when I reached this obstacle.
I stopped in Nairn for second breakfast and then followed the river path to Cawdor.
It was delightful with lots of bluebells on the way.
In places the path edge was crumbling into the river so walking was safer than cycling.
I thought about having lunch at Cawdor castle cafe but you had to pay to enter the grounds just to get to the cafe.  Instead I went to the Cawdor Corner Cafe which was much more inviting. I couldn't even see Cawdor castle from the road. A short while further on I could see Kilravock castle.
It was a day for obstacles as, after limboing under this tree, I found the path through the forest near Balloch was completely blocked by fallen trees. I had to retrace my limboing and find a different way out of the forest.
A bit later I took a wrong turn in Culloden wood and thought the trail was getting a bit exciting for a fully laden bike when I realised I'd taken a wrong turn and had to push my bike back up over this log. Still, lost in Culloden wood is better than dead on Culloden moor!
I finally arrived at Inverness and met up with a Samaritans volunteer who is very kindly hosting me for two nights and riding with me to Dingwall tomorrow.
Tonight's view is of Ben Wyvis.
